NyikBar has more than thirty years of contacts across Australia. Our First Nation supplier and corporate and government supply chain networks are extensive. Our national networks also encompass First Nations Community Leaders, Caring For Country specialists and governance experts. We can facilitate targeted communications and direct engagement between a range of stakeholders in the First Nations space. We take particular pride in helping parties engage within the supply chain for major construction and infrastructure projects.

Mapping Services

Putting Country Back on the Map

At NyikBar, we specialise in culturally grounded mapping services that elevate Indigenous knowledge systems, languages, and governance. Led by Charles Prouse, First Nations lead on Apple’s Indigenous Lands project, our work integrates traditional place names and protected areas into mainstream digital platforms like Apple Maps — helping to normalise Indigenous languages and narratives in everyday tools.

Over the past four years, Charles has collaborated with communities, cultural institutions, and tech partners to embed over 250 traditional names across Australia. This work is more than cartography — it’s about representation, revitalization, and respect. We support:

  • Community-led mapping projects

  • Digital integration of Indigenous place names

  • Cultural governance frameworks for geospatial data

  • Workshops and training in Indigenous mapping protocols

  • Strategic advice to tech platforms and governments

“Mapping is not just about where places are — it’s about who we are, and how we care for Country.”

Supplier Diversity

  • Assessment of Supplier Diversity procurement process flows and recommended guidelines and templates

  • Implementation of the Business Council of Australia’s Raising the Bar initiative

  • Aligning your data tagging, capture and reporting process for increased auditability, efficiency and accuracy

  • Aligning your supplier diversity reporting at the tier one and tier two level in your supply chain

NyikBar has executive corporate and government experience in setting the targets and delivering the accompanying frameworks to engage diverse businesses in the supply chain. Having worked with Supply Nation, the Federal Government, various State Governments, Social Traders and WE Connect International, we are well equipped to help clients identify the opportunities and challenges of supplier diversity.
